How do you choose an MLM company?
As trainers who provide MLM education to networkers around Asia, very often we are asked the above question.
Our answer is very simple - 3 simple criteria, in order of importance.
#1 Product (or service)
How do you feel about the product or service that you are going to promote? How has it benefit you or love ones? Would you have purchased it, even WITHOUT the business opportunity?
If you don’t feel strongly for the product, i.e. it is not something you will encourage your own mother or spouse to buy, please do not promote the business for the sake of money.
#2 People - that is the management, leaders and your future “sidelines”
First thing first, what are their values? Do they have good values? Of course everyone claims they have good values. Do they really live by them or are they simply saying it?
Do the management and leaders really train their people or are distributors quickly equipped with some basic sales techniques before being push into the street to sell? What are their track records? Do they have a system for success?
How about the other distributors? Are there a lot of politics and fighting over sales?
#3 Compensation plan
Surprising to most people, this comes in third. This is because we have witnessed many successes by great networkers whose company provide a plan that has nothing to shout about.
Having said that, you must still be comfortable with the plan. Every plan has it unique characteristics. Some plans reward effort in selling, some rewards leadership. Which is better for you? A lot depend on your personality and preference.
You may not be able to evaluate everything within 1 to 2 meetings.
That’s why we encourage anyone who is planning to get into MLM to first join them as a consumer. Take time to understand the business and people. Build your belief. When you are ready, life will never be the same again.

Good Post,
strait to the point and simple. There is really no need to make your search for a good mlm company complicated. The point that stands out for me is, “how do you feel about the product or service you are going to promote.” This is so important because if you’re enthusiastic about the product this will infuence others to try it too, and if they become enthusiastic about the product as well, you’re organisation will soon grow.
